1) Can the Eaton B-Line 6648 HS wireway be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. It is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which means general purpose indoor use only, with no rating against dripping water, rain, or hosedown. For outdoor runs or wet locations you need a NEMA 3R or 4 wireway instead.
2) What do I still need to order to build a complete wireway run with the 6648 HS?
The 6648 HS is a straight 48 inch trough section only. A finished run also needs connectors between sections, end plates to close the run off, and any elbows, tees, or crosses where the raceway changes direction, all sized to the same 6 by 6 inch profile. Conduit hubs or fittings for the punched knockouts are separate as well.
3) Does the 6648 HS wireway come with knockouts already punched?
Yes, it ships with 15 knockouts on the top and 15 on the bottom, so you can drop conduit in and out along the run without field-punching. Ends and sides are handled with connectors and fittings you order separately.
4) Is the cover on the B-Line 6648 wireway hinged or screw-on?
Hinged. The HS in the model designation is the hinged screw-cover version, so the cover swings open for pulling and landing conductors instead of coming off completely. It is secured to the body with plated screws once closed.
5) Is the Eaton B-Line 6648 HS wireway approved for use in Canada?
It is certified to CSA C22.2, which is the Canadian standard set referenced for this type of enclosure, so it is acceptable for Canadian installations as well as US work.
6) Will this wireway match the other gray electrical gear in my panel room?
