The 88-12LE9TCC transposition elbow is sized for 8 x 8 inch wireway, matching the 8 inch height and 8 inch width of the fitting. If your run is 4 x 4, 6 x 6 or 12 x 12, this is the wrong body size and the joint will not seal.

A transposition elbow turns the wireway 90 degrees and rotates the cover plane at the same time, so the covers on both runs stay accessible. Direction matters: the 88-12LE9TCC is the counterclockwise version. Stand looking at the incoming run with the cover facing you and follow the turn; if the outgoing run's cover rotates to the left, counterclockwise is correct. Order the clockwise version if it turns the other way. There is no field-reversible option here, so getting the hand right on the order is the whole decision.
