B-LINE 22-12LBC – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the B-Line 22-12LBC box connector do in a wireway run?
The Eaton B-Line 22-12LBC is a box connector fitting used to join a 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch wireway to an enclosure or box, carrying the wiring through the wall of the box while keeping the NEMA 12 rating of the run intact. It is a steel fitting, part of the B-Line wireway miscellaneous fitting line.
2) Will the 22-12LBC fit 4x4 wireway or only 2.5 inch wireway?
Only 2.5 inch square wireway. The 22-12LBC is sized for a 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch duct, so a 4x4 or 6x6 run needs the matching connector for that size instead. Check the duct cross section before ordering, because the fitting flange will not land on a larger body.
3) Is the B-Line 22-12LBC rated for a washdown or dust-heavy area?
It is a NEMA 12 fitting, which covers dust, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids on indoor equipment. That is not a washdown or outdoor rating, so for hosedown or wet exterior locations you want NEMA 4 or 4X rated wireway and fittings rather than this one.
4) Is the 22-12LBC UL Listed for a spec job?
Yes, the 22-12LBC box connector is UL Listed, which is normally what an inspector or a spec section wants to see on a wireway fitting for commercial and institutional work.
5) Is the 22-12LBC steel or a plastic fitting?
Steel. That matters for a maintenance crew standardizing a plant run, since the fitting matches the steel wireway body mechanically and grounds through the assembly the same way the duct does.
