B-LINE 66-4XSFCF – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size wireway does the B-Line 66-4XSFCF cutoff fitting fit?
The 66-4XSFCF cutoff fitting is built for 6 x 6 inch wireway, matching a 6 inch height and 6 inch width, with a 12 inch length along the run. Pair it with 6 x 6 stainless NEMA 4X trough; it will not mate to 4 x 4 or 8 x 8 wireway.
2) Is this B-Line wireway fitting rated for washdown or outdoor use?
It carries a NEMA 4X rating, so it is suited to wet, outdoor, and corrosive or washdown areas, food processing and similar environments. The body is stainless steel with a brushed finish, which is what makes the 4X corrosion rating work in those locations.
3) Is the B-Line 66-4XSFCF UL Listed for an inspected commercial job?
Yes, it is UL Listed. That plus the NEMA 4X construction is typically what an inspector wants to see on a stainless wireway run in a wet or corrosive location.
4) What does a wireway cutoff fitting actually do in a run?
A cutoff fitting closes out or terminates a length of wireway while still letting conductors pass through, since this one is a feed-through configuration. Use it where the trough run ends at equipment or transitions and the conductors continue on rather than dead-ending.
5) Will a painted steel wireway fitting work in place of this stainless one?
Not if the run has to hold a NEMA 4X rating. Mixing a painted carbon steel fitting into a stainless 4X trough breaks the corrosion rating at that joint and creates a dissimilar metal point. Stay with stainless 4X components sized 6 x 6 to match.
6) What part number do I order for the Eaton B-Line 6x6 NEMA 4X stainless cutoff fitting?
Order model 66-4XSFCF from Eaton's B-Line series. The 66 designates the 6 x 6 inch trough size and 4XS the NEMA 4X stainless construction.
7) How heavy is the 6x6 stainless cutoff fitting for overhead support planning?
It weighs 7.592 lb. Light enough for one person to set, but add it to the run load when you space hangers or trapeze supports for a 6 x 6 stainless trough.
