The Eaton B-Line 22 FTF is sized for 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch wireway. It is a telescoping fitting, so it is used to close a gap between two runs of that same 2.5 x 2.5 trough where a straight section will not fit or cannot be cut in. It will not adapt between two different trough sizes.

The 22 FTF measures 12 inches on its length axis, 4.125 inches wide and 2.75 inches high. Because it telescopes, it slides over the ends of the adjoining trough sections, so the usable gap it closes is less than the full 12 inches once you allow for overlap at both ends. Use it where a field-measured gap in an existing run has to be filled without cutting and refitting the whole line.

A straight section is the right call when you are laying out a new run and can cut to length. The telescoping fitting earns its place on retrofit and repair work: an existing 2.5 x 2.5 lay-in run where equipment is already mounted at both ends and you cannot shift anything to make a fixed length work. The 22 FTF slides to take up the field dimension, so you close the gap without breaking down the run.

The 22 FTF is built for lay-in wireway, where the cover comes off and conductors drop into the trough rather than being pulled through. If your system is a feed-through style raceway with a different cover arrangement, this fitting is not the match. Confirm your existing trough is 2.5 x 2.5 lay-in before ordering.

It is steel with an ANSI 61 gray painted finish, the standard gray used across B-Line lay-in wireway and most industrial electrical enclosures, so it blends with existing gray trough runs. For an MRO or facilities buyer standardizing a plant, that means a repair section will not stand out against the rest of the line.

It weighs 2.524 pounds, so it is a one-hand piece for an electrician working off a ladder or lift. The steel body still needs supporting at the adjoining trough sections per your hanger spacing; the fitting itself is not a support point.
