B-LINE 101060 GGV NK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Eaton B-Line 101060 GGV NK wireway be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. The 101060 GGV NK trough is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is indoor, general purpose only. It gives protection against incidental contact and falling dirt, but nothing against water, oil, or dust ingress. For a wet or outdoor run you need a NEMA 3R or NEMA 4 rated raintight/watertight wireway instead.
2) Does this wireway come with knockouts for conduit?
No knockouts. The 101060 GGV NK is the NK (no knockouts) version, so every conduit entry has to be field punched or hole sawed where you want it. If you would rather have factory openings on a standard pattern, order a knockout version of the GGV trough instead. The body is 14 gauge steel, so plan on a knockout punch rather than a hole saw for clean openings.
3) How is the cover attached, and can I get to the wire after it is installed?
The cover is a screw cover, held with plated screws along the flange. You get full access to the whole run once the screws are out, but it is not a hinged or quick-latch design, so on a gutter you expect to open often, budget the time to back out and reinstall every screw.
4) Is the Eaton B-Line 101060 GGV NK trough certified for use on an inspected job?
It is CSA Certified, which is what most Canadian inspectors are looking for on a wiring trough. Keep the label on the body legible after install so it can be verified at rough-in.
5) What do I still need to order to complete a wireway run with this section?
The 101060 GGV NK is a straight 60 inch body with its screw cover. Anything that changes direction or terminates the run (elbows, tees, end plates, connectors or splice hardware) and all mounting fasteners are separate. Since it ships with no knockouts, plan your conduit entries and punch sizes before the trough goes on the wall.
6) What finish is this wireway, and will it hold up in an unfinished mechanical room?
Galvanized steel body with a gray finish and plated cover screws. That combination is intended for dry indoor service such as electrical rooms, mechanical spaces, and plant interiors. It is not a coating package for corrosive or wet environments.
