It's a NEMA 3R rated trough, so it's built for outdoor use where rain and falling water are the concern, not washdown or dust-tight service. Body is galvanized steel in gray with plated cover screws. If you need a dust-tight or oiltight enclosure, a 3R trough is the wrong choice.

Cross section is 10 inches by 10 inches with a 60 inch length, so you get a full 100 square inch interior channel over five feet. That's the size electricians reach for when a 4x4 or 6x6 trough runs out of fill on a large feeder pull or a big panel gutter tap.

No knockouts. The NK in 101060 GRTGV NK means blank sides and ends, so you lay out and punch your own conduit entries exactly where the raceway lands. Good when you're feeding multiple conduit sizes or an odd pattern; if you want factory holes on set centers, order a knockout version instead.

The back has embossed thru holes, so it bolts straight to a wall, plywood backboard, or strut without drilling the enclosure. At 44.102 lb empty plus conductor weight, put fasteners into studs, masonry anchors, or strut channel, and support both ends of a 60 inch run. Mounting hardware is not part of the trough.

Screw cover, not hinged. The cover seats on a flange and is held by plated screws, so it is fully removable for pulling and splicing but it is a two-hand job at height. For a box you open often, a hinged-cover trough is easier to live with.

16 gauge galvanized steel. That's standard commercial trough material, stiff enough to span between supports on a 60 inch body without oilcanning, and the galvanized finish handles the damp and outdoor locations the 3R rating covers.

It's certified to CSA C22.2, so it can be specified on work inspected to the Canadian Electrical Code. Useful if you're standardizing one trough across US and Canadian sites.

Troughs are built to be joined end to end, and with a blank-end NK body you cut or punch the end plate opening yourself to match the next section, then bolt the flanges together. Each section is 10 by 10 by 60 inches, so two make a ten foot run of continuous 100 square inch raceway. Plan on a connector or closure plate and fasteners at each joint, none of which ship with the trough.
