The 2224 HS is a 2.5 x 2.5 inch cross section, 24 inches long. That is the smallest of the common trough sizes, so it is meant for short runs of control or branch circuit conductors and jumper wiring between adjacent enclosures, not for a heavy feeder pull. If you are filling a trough with multiple large conductors, step up to a 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 cross section instead.

The cover is hinged, so it swings open rather than lifting away, which means you do not lose a loose cover into a ceiling space while you are pulling wire. The cover is secured to the body with plated screws. Because it hinges on one long side, leave clearance on that side; a screw cover (non-hinged) trough is the better choice if the trough is boxed in tight against structure.

Mounting is through holes in the body, so you fasten it directly to the wall, strut, or backpan with your own screws or bolts. Fasteners and anchors are not part of the trough, so pick them for the substrate. At 4.566 lb bare, the loaded weight is mostly conductor, so anchor to structure or strut rather than drywall alone.

There are 7 knockouts on the top and 7 on the bottom, so you can bring conduit in or out along the length from either side without drilling the enclosure yourself. Knockouts on both faces let you land connectors where the raceway actually arrives rather than reworking the run.

The 2224 HS carries CSA C22.2 certification, so it can be specified on work under the Canadian Electrical Code as well as US installations.

Wireway is built to be coupled end to end, and the 24 inch length is one stick of a longer system. Keep all sections the same 2.5 x 2.5 cross section so the openings line up, and plan on the matching connector, end plate, and elbow fittings for that size, since none of those are included with the trough itself.
