It's a 4 x 4 inch cross section, 24 inches long. That 4 by 4 inside profile is the standard trough size electricians size conduit fill and gutter taps around, and the 24 inch run is the short length used for jogs between panels or as a pull section rather than a long home run.

No. The 4424 HS is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is indoor, dry location only. It gives protection against incidental contact with the enclosed wiring and falling dirt, nothing more. For a wet or washdown area or anything exposed to weather, you need a NEMA 3R or NEMA 4 gasketed trough instead.

Hinged. The cover swings open on the 4424 HS instead of lifting off, so you're not holding a loose panel while you pull conductors, and it latches back with plated screws securing the cover to the body. If your spec calls for a screw cover trough, this is not that part.

Seven on the top and seven on the bottom, 14 total. That gives you connection points along both faces of the 24 inch run for feeding conduit up to panels above and down to devices below without drilling the body in the field.

Through holes in the body. You fasten it directly to the surface with your own hardware, so anchors, strut hardware or machine screws are on you, sized to the substrate. At 6.716 lb empty the trough itself is light, but plan fasteners around the loaded weight once conductors are in it.

The 4424 HS carries CSA C22.2 certification, so it's acceptable for work inspected to the Canadian Electrical Code as well as general commercial use.

Pick hinged where you'll be back in the trough regularly, control rooms, panels that get re-fed, anywhere a technician works alone and can't juggle a loose cover on a ladder. Screw cover troughs are the cheaper choice for a run that gets closed once and left. The 4424 HS is the hinged version and still screws shut with plated screws, so it stays secured after service.

16 gauge steel, finished in ANSI 61 gray. That's the standard gray used on switchgear and panelboards, so it matches adjacent electrical equipment in a typical commercial room instead of standing out.
