It is a screw cover, not hinged. The cover seats on a flange and is held by plated screws, so pulling it takes a driver and a free hand, but it goes back on the same way for future access to splices. On an outdoor 3R install, plan to reseat every screw so the flange closes the way the rating expects.

The back has embossed thru holes, so it hangs on your own fasteners straight to a wall, strut, or backboard. No separate mounting kit is built in, which means you supply the screws, bolts, or strut hardware suited to the surface. At 6.634 pounds empty it is a one-person hang, but size the anchors for the weight of the conductors you are putting in it too.

It carries CSA C22.2 certification, so it can be specified on Canadian work as well as US installs. That matters on institutional and municipal submittals where the reviewer wants a CSA mark on the enclosure schedule.

16 gauge galvanized steel is the usual body thickness for gutters and troughs in this size class, and it is stiff enough that the 6 x 6 opening holds shape when you dress conductors against the sidewall. It is also thick enough to tap for grounding hardware, and heavy enough that field-punching conduit openings needs a proper knockout punch rather than a step bit.

The finish is gray over galvanized steel, which sits alongside typical gray painted panelboards and disconnects rather than standing out as bare mill galvanize. If a facility is standardizing appearance across an electrical room or an exterior wall, that gray is the one to match to.
