NEMA 3R is a raintight-style rating, not watertight and not dusttight, so keep it out of washdown areas and off sites where hose-directed water or heavy airborne dust is a factor. No. The 6618 GRT NK is the NK (no knockouts) version, so every conduit entry gets punched or drilled in the field. That's an advantage when your raceway layout doesn't line up with a factory pattern, and extra work when it does. If you want pre-punched entries, order a knockout version of the same size instead of this one.

Screw cover, not hinged. The cover seats on a flange and is held by plated screws, so you need clearance in front of the trough to lift the cover straight off and somewhere to set it while you work. For a panel you open weekly, a hinged-cover trough is the friendlier choice; for a wire-pull raceway you close and forget, the screw cover keeps things tight outdoors.

Mounting is through embossed thru holes in the back of the enclosure, so it bolts flat to a wall, backboard or strut run without drilling the body. The embossing keeps the fastener heads off the sheet metal face. Fasteners and any strut hardware are a separate purchase, sized to what you are anchoring into.

16 gauge is the standard commercial body thickness for a trough this size and it's what keeps a 6 x 6 section from oil-canning when you pull wire through it or hang it off strut. With the flange-and-screw cover it makes a rigid box once closed. Heavier gauge is generally reserved for larger cross-sections and industrial duty.

It's finished in ANSI 61 gray, the standard industrial gray used across most B-Line and Eaton enclosures and panelboards, so it lines up visually with the rest of a typical gear room or backboard. Screws are plated.
