It's built to NEMA 3R, so it's rated for outdoor use against falling rain and sleet in the mounting orientation it was designed for. For washdown or hose-directed areas you'd need a 4 or 4X enclosure instead.
2) Does the 8896 GRT NK trough come with knockouts for conduit?
No. The NK in 8896 GRT NK means no knockouts, so the 16 gauge steel body ships blank and you punch your own conduit entries wherever the run needs them. Plan on a knockout punch or hole saw on site. If you want factory knockouts, you need the knockout version of the GRT trough rather than the NK.
3) Is the cover on the 8896 GRT NK hinged or screw-on?
Screw cover, not hinged. The cover seats against a flange and is secured with plated screws along the length. That's the right choice for a gutter you open rarely and want weather-tight; if electricians will be in and out of it daily, a hinged-cover enclosure saves time.
