It's built to NEMA 3R, so it's rated for outdoor use against falling rain and sleet. The body is galvanized steel in gray with a screw-on cover held by a flange and plated screws, which is what keeps water out of the raceway. It is not a washdown or hose-down enclosure, so keep it off applications that need 4 or 4X.
