1) Will a Crouse-Hinds Form 7 Condulet cover fit a Form 8 or Mark 9 conduit body?
No. The Form 7 cover is made to the Form 7 configuration and mates with Form 7 condulet bodies in the 1/2 inch size. Form designations are not interchangeable, so a Form 8 or Mark 9 body needs the cover built for that form. Check the form marking cast into the body before ordering.
2) Which Crouse-Hinds 170 cover do I order if I need the gasket built in?
Two of the five versions come with the integral sealing gasket: the 170FG in Feraloy iron alloy, and the 170G SA in sheet aluminum. The 170 (sheet steel), 170F (Feraloy) and 170F SA (cast aluminum) are the standard, non-gasketed covers. If you want moisture and dust sealing without adding a separate gasket, specify 170FG or 170G SA.
3) I am replacing a cracked cover on an existing 1/2 inch condulet. Is this the right part?
If the existing body is a 1/2 inch Form 7 condulet, yes, the 170 series cover is the replacement and you can go on without pulling the body out of the run.
