5) What does the C shape mean, and when do I use it instead of an LB or T body?
A C body is a straight-through pull fitting: both hubs are in line with the run and the removable cover gives you an access opening to pull and inspect conductors. Use it on a long straight run where you need a pull point. An L-shaped body is what you want to turn a 90 degree corner, and a T body is for a three-way branch. The Form 8 C-body here is the straight C configuration.
6) Will a Crouse-Hinds Form 8 C-body satisfy an inspector on a commercial job?
The Form 8 C-body is built to NEC/CEC standards, which is the code basis inspectors work from in both the US and Canada.
