Both, depending on which one you order. The FDC 2-gang deep box comes as FDC222 (3/4 inch hubs, Feraloy iron alloy), FDC222 SA (3/4 inch hubs, copper-free aluminum), and FDC32 (1 inch hubs, Feraloy iron alloy). The hub size is fixed by the casting, so match it to the conduit run you already have in the wall rather than planning to bush it down.
2) Can I use a Crouse-Hinds FDC box in a Class I or Class II hazardous area?
No. The FDC C-style device box is rated for ordinary, non-hazardous locations only. For a classified area you need a box listed for that class, division and group, and an FDC will not carry that listing. Use it for commercial, institutional and light industrial work in unclassified space.
3) How deep is the FDC 2-gang deep box, and will it give me room for two devices plus wire?
4.19 inches on the length/depth dimension, 2.69 inches wide, and it is the deep body rather than the shallow one. That is the version to order when you are landing two devices in one box along with several conductors and pigtails; the shallow FD body is where crowding starts. The 2-gang opening takes two devices or switches behind a single cover.
