Three hub sizes: 1/2 inch (FDCT1), 3/4 inch (FDCT2) and 1 inch (FDCT3). Pick the hub that matches the conduit you are running into the box. The 3/4 inch size is also offered as FDCT2 SA in copper-free aluminum if you want the lighter body.
2) Is the FDCT box rated for hazardous locations like a paint booth or fuel area?
No. The FDCT T-style device box is rated for ordinary, non-hazardous locations only. For a Class I or Class II classified area you need a box from an explosionproof line, not this one.
3) Iron alloy or aluminum FDCT box, which should I order?
The FDCT1, FDCT2 and FDCT3 are Feraloy iron alloy. The FDCT2 SA is copper-free aluminum, which is the one to spec where weight matters or where copper content is restricted. Both are the same 1-gang deep T-style body; only the material and available hub size differ, and aluminum is offered in 3/4 inch only.
4) How many devices will fit in a Crouse-Hinds FDCT box?
One. It is a 1-gang body, so a single switch, receptacle or pilot device per box. For two devices side by side you need a 2-gang version of the FD line.
5) What does the T shape on the FDCT box mean for my conduit run?
The T body gives you three hub openings in a tee arrangement, so you can bring conduit through and branch off at the box instead of adding a separate tee fitting. Handy for mid-run switch and receptacle drops on exposed conduit.
