1) Will a Crouse-Hinds Type LR Series 5 body thread onto EMT?
No. The Type LR Series 5 is built for rigid and IMC conduit, which uses NPT threaded hubs. EMT is unthreaded and needs a set-screw or compression style body instead. If your run is EMT, this is the wrong body.
2) I am replacing an old LR body on a 3/4 inch rigid run. Will this drop straight in?
If the existing run is 3/4 inch rigid or IMC and the old body was an LR, the 3/4 inch version (LR25-CGN) threads onto the same NPT conduit ends in the same orientation. Check that the cover side you need is the right-hand side, since LB and LL bodies are not interchangeable with LR without re-routing the conduit.
