Yes. The 10250T key-operated selector carries NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings, which covers rain and outdoor exposure (3/3R), hosedown and washdown (4), corrosion resistance (4X) and dust or oil-laden shop air (12/13). 2) What is the difference between the 2-position and 3-position Eaton 10250T key switches?
Four operators are offered and the choice is positions plus where the key can be pulled. 10250T15111 is 2-position with key removal right only; 10250T15112 is 2-position with key removal left only; 10250T15234 is 3-position with key removal in center only; 10250T15235 is 3-position with key removal right and center. Two position is the usual OFF/ON or LOCAL/REMOTE lockout. Three position gives you a center OFF with a selection either side, typically HAND-OFF-AUTO.
3) Which key removal position should I order if I need the machine locked out when the key is pulled?
Pick the operator whose key removal position matches the state you want enforced. If the key can only come out at one position, the switch cannot be left anywhere else unattended. For a hard lockout at center OFF on a three position, order 10250T15234, key removal center only. 10250T15235 releases the key at both right and center, so an operator can pull the key with the switch still selected to the right, which is what you want for a maintained RUN selection but not for a lockout.
4) Can I use the Eaton 10250T to replace an existing 30.5 mm selector switch in my panel?
If the existing operator is a 30.5 mm heavy-duty style, the 10250T mounts in the same cutout with no panel rework. What you need to confirm is the cam and throw: the 10250T uses Cam 3 with a 60 degree throw, so the contact blocks will make and break at those positions. If the old operator used a different cam, the contact sequence changes and you will need to recheck the circuit against your schematic.
5) Does the Eaton 10250T key switch come with contact blocks?
No. The 10250T key-operated selector is the operator only, the bezel, cam and key cylinder that mounts through the panel. You add the contact blocks behind it to get your N.O. and N.C. circuits, and a legend plate on the front if you want the positions marked. Count the circuits your schematic needs before ordering blocks, since a three position switch commonly needs two blocks to break one leg and make another.
