1) Will the Eaton ISOGROUND insulated ground bar fit a Pow-R-Line PRL3A panelboard?
Yes. The Eaton ISOGROUND insulated/isolated ground bar assembly is made for use with PRL1A, PRL2A, and PRL3A panelboards. If your panel is one of those three Pow-R-Line series, this is the isolated ground kit that goes in it. For anything outside that list, it is not the right assembly.
2) What is the difference between an isolated ground bar and a regular equipment ground bar in a panelboard?
A standard equipment ground bar bonds directly to the enclosure, so every ground conductor shares the metal of the can. The Eaton ISOGROUND bar is an insulated/isolated assembly, meaning it mounts on insulators and keeps its ground conductors separate from the enclosure so they run back to the source independently. That is what you want for isolated ground receptacles feeding sensitive electronics, imaging equipment, or data gear. For ordinary branch circuit grounding, the bonded bar that comes with the panel is what you use.
3) How many isolated ground conductors will the Eaton 600A ground bar assembly take?
The assembly is configured for 42 circuits, so it lands the isolated ground conductors for a full 42-circuit panelboard. If you are specifying a 42-pole PRL1A, PRL2A, or PRL3A and every branch needs an isolated ground, one assembly covers the panel.
4) Can I use the Eaton ISOGROUND bar in a 600 amp panelboard?
600A is the rating on the ISOGROUND assembly, so it is sized for panelboards up to that main capacity. Above 600A it is not the correct part.
5) Does the Eaton ISOGROUND ground bar work in Pow-R-Xpress PRL1X and PRL2X panels?
Yes. Eaton lists this assembly for PRL1X/2X as well as PRL1A/2A, so it covers both the Pow-R-Xpress quick-ship panels and the standard Pow-R-Line A series. PRL3A is also on the compatibility list.
6) Do I still need the standard equipment ground bar if I install the Eaton isolated ground assembly?
Yes. An insulated/isolated bar is for the isolated ground conductors only; it is deliberately not bonded to the can. The equipment grounding conductors for conduit, enclosures, and normal branch circuits still land on the panel's bonded ground bar. Installing the ISOGROUND assembly adds a second, separated landing point, it does not replace the first one.
