Emtek 2215 Modern Rectangular Brass Flush Pulls (2-7/8" x 7-1/4")

The Emtek 2215 flush cup pull measures 2-7/8 x 7-1/4 inches overall, with a 1/8 inch projection, so the trim plate sits proud of the door face by an eighth of an inch and the cup pocket is what gets routed into the slab. Cut your mortise to the cup, not the plate, and let the plate cover the edges of the cut.

On a face-mounted barn door a flush pull is usually the wrong choice. The 2215 sits nearly flat, with only 1/8 inch of projection, which is exactly what you want when the door slides into a wall pocket and any raised handle would jam it. A barn door rides on the outside of the wall and has clearance for a surface-mounted pull, so a flush cup only makes sense there if the door passes tight to a jamb, a casing, or a second slab.

Solid brass, both the material and the substrate. That matters for the unlacquered brass option in particular, which will patina over time rather than wearing through a plating to a different base metal underneath.

Plan on two per leaf for a single pocket door: one on the room side, one on the pocket side so the door can be pulled back out of the wall. A pair of bypass or converging pocket doors takes four. The 2215 is a one-sided cup pull, not a back-to-back set, so count openings by face and not by door.

The 2215 is a squared-off contemporary rectangle, meant to sit with modern trim and slab doors. If the house calls for something more traditional, the Baldwin 0397 SOL from the Estate series is a flush cup handle with a solid spindle ring pull, so it reads as period hardware rather than a plain recessed rectangle.

Two nickels are offered and they are not interchangeable on a wall of doors. Satin Nickel (US15) is the warmer brushed finish most builder-grade nickel hardware uses. Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14) is bright and mirror-like, closer in appearance to Polished Chrome (US26) but warmer in tone. Pull an existing lever off a door and match the US code stamped on it rather than eyeballing the two.
