Emtek 455727 Ridgemont Grip by Grip Entrance Handleset - Sandcast Bronze Tubular - Dummy

It is a dummy function only. The Ridgemont 455727 grip by grip handleset has no latch, no deadbolt, and no cylinder, so it will not lock or latch the door. It is pull hardware for a door held closed some other way, such as an inactive leaf of a pair, a ball catch door, or a French door where a separate flush bolt or multipoint does the work. If you need the door to latch or key, you need a keyed entry or passage handleset instead.

It covers 1-3/8 inch through 1-3/4 inch doors, with 1-3/4 inch being the standard build. If your door is thicker than 1-3/4 inches, enter the actual thickness in the Door Thickness field when you order so Emtek supplies the correct fasteners.

That is exactly the usual application. The 455727 is surface mounted with no latch, so it gives the inactive leaf a matching exterior and interior grip while a flush bolt or the active leaf's lock does the securing. Order it in the same sandcast bronze finish as the active door's keyed handleset so the pair reads as one set.

Handing is not required. Because both sides are grips and there is no latch to reverse, the 455727 installs on a left or right hand door without any change.

Three sandcast bronze finishes: Flat Black Bronze (FB), Medium Bronze (MB), and Tumbled White Bronze (TWB). These are living finishes from Emtek's Sandcast Bronze collection, so they patinate with handling and match other sandcast bronze pieces rather than the plated brass finishes. If you want a different finish inside than out, use the optional Split Finish field when ordering.

It is a residential product. The Ridgemont sandcast bronze handleset is built for houses and light-use openings, so for a commercial entrance under heavy traffic or a code-driven spec, look at Grade 1 or Grade 2 commercial hardware instead.

The grips sit on 5-1/2 inch centers. If you are replacing an existing surface-mounted dummy grip, compare that dimension first, since a different center-to-center means new holes and possibly visible old ones under the new plate.

The grips are sandcast bronze, a solid cast material rather than a plated shell or stamped steel. Bronze in the uncoated sandcast finishes weathers and darkens over time with exposure and handling, which is the intended look on a rustic exterior entry.
