1) Will the Emtek 473444 Tuscany handleset fit a 1-3/4 inch entry door?
Yes. The Tuscany grip by grip handleset covers door thicknesses from 1-3/8 inch up to 2 inches, so a standard 1-3/4 inch entry door is right in the middle of the range. Thickness is an order entry field, so if your door is thicker than 1-3/4 inches, state the actual thickness when you order and the lock is built for it.
2) Does the 473444 handleset bore into the same holes as my existing entry lock?
It uses standard residential tubular prep: a 2-1/8 inch cross bore and a 2-3/8 inch or 2-3/4 inch backset, both of which are the usual bored-door dimensions. The grip plates are 5-1/2 inches center to center between the bore and the deadbolt, so on a typical 5-1/2 inch CTC prep the existing two bores line up. Measure your current backset first and pick the matching option when ordering.
3) Can I key this Emtek handleset to my existing Weiser house key?
Yes. The Tuscany handleset ships with a Schlage C keyway as standard, and a Weiser WR5 cylinder is offered as a no-upcharge substitution (the product code gets a W added to the front). With the WR5 cylinder it can be keyed into an existing Weiser system. Select the Weiser keyway option at order and give your key code in the keying-to-code field.
4) I am replacing locks on several doors, can these be keyed alike on one key?
Yes, keying is handled at no charge. You choose keyed different or keyed alike when ordering, and there is also a keying-to-code field if you need the cylinders cut to a specific existing code so one key runs the whole set.
5) What does single cylinder mean on this entry handleset, and is there a key needed on the inside?
Single cylinder means one keyed cylinder on the exterior only. The inside is thumb-turn operated, so no key is required to get out. That is the normal choice for a residential entry, and it is why this is catalogued as an entry function rather than a double-keyed setup.
