Emtek 7044 STRETTO Narrow Trim Lockset, 1-1/2" x 11" Concord Keyed, Brass Tubular, Dummy (Pair)

Dummy function, so there is no latch and no bore for one. The 7044 is a pair of surface mounted trim plates with a knob or lever on each side that turn freely, used on doors that don't need to latch: closet doors, French door inactive leaves, pantry doors, or a door held by a roller catch or magnetic catch you supply separately. If you need the door to stay shut on its own, this isn't the set.

None. The 7044 is surface mount, so there's no cross bore, no 2-1/8 inch hole and no edge prep. It fastens to the face of the door, which is what makes it workable on narrow stile French and glass doors where a standard bored set would blow out the stile.

Handing is a required selection, right hand or left hand. It matters because the levers have to point toward the hinges when the door is closed. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right, it's right hand. Knobs are symmetrical, but the handing selection is still part of the order.

Each plate measures 1-1/2 x 11 inches. That narrow width is the point of the STRETTO Concord trim, it sits on stiles too slim for a rosette-and-bore set, and the hole spacing through the plate runs on 3-3/8 inch centers within a 1-1/4 inch door prep footprint.

That's how it's meant to be specified. The inside trim is chosen from Emtek's brass knob and lever range, so you can put the same Cortina lever, Providence knob or Windsor crystal knob on the dummy leaf as on the latching doors. Finishes run Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL) and Satin Brass (US4). Note that unlacquered brass will patina over time while the others hold their finish, so mixing US3NL with an existing US4 opening won't stay matched.

It's specified as residential brass trim, not commercial grade hardware. For a leasing office, corridor or any opening on a life safety or code path, a property manager should be looking at a Grade 1 or Grade 2 commercial bored lockset instead. The 7044 is at home on high end residential and light hospitality doors, single family, condo interiors, model units.

No key and no lock. The 7044 is non-keyed dummy trim, so it can't be locked from either side. For a door that needs to lock, look at a keyed or privacy function set in the same STRETTO trim so the look carries across the openings.

One order is a pair, so both faces of a single door are covered, trim plate and handle inside and out. A set of French doors, meaning two leaves, needs two orders. Pick the inside trim style and handing per order.

Solid brass, both the material and the substrate. That matters for the unlacquered brass option in particular, since a living finish only develops properly on solid brass rather than on plated steel or zinc.

Four things. Exterior finish, the knob or lever style for the inside trim (the range runs from levers like Cortina, Stuttgart and Athena to knobs including Ace, Square, Waverly and crystal options like Windsor and Georgetown), handing, and the door thickness band. All but the notes field are required, and the thickness and handing choices are the two that get an order sent back if they're wrong.
