Emtek 86419-US26 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Emtek 86419 Neos backplate include the cabinet pull, or is it sold separately?
The 86419 Neos is the backplate only. It is a decorative plate that sits behind a cabinet pull, so you order the pull separately and mount it through the plate. Plan on matching the pull's center-to-center spacing to the plate's 4 inch centers.
2) What finishes is the Emtek 86419 Neos cabinet backplate available in?
Six finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26) and Satin Brass (US4). If you are standardizing a kitchen or a unit turnover, pick the US number that matches the pulls already specified so the plate and pull read as one piece.
3) Is the Emtek Neos backplate solid brass or plated zinc?
Brass, both the substrate and the stated material. That matters on a kitchen or bath run where finishes get wiped down daily, and it is why the finish list uses traditional US codes rather than painted coatings.
4) How does the Neos 86419 backplate mount to a cabinet door?
Surface mount. The plate lays on the face of the door or drawer front and the pull's screws pass through it into the two bored holes, sandwiching the plate in place. No mortising or routing of the cabinet face is required.
5) Is the Emtek 86419 Neos backplate suitable for a commercial job or is it residential hardware?
Emtek lists the Neos 86419 as residential. It is decorative cabinet hardware for kitchens, baths, millwork and multi-family unit interiors rather than a commercial-duty rated product, so do not spec it where a project schedule calls for commercial grade hardware.
6) What design style is the Emtek Neos backplate, and what will it look right with?
Neos is a contemporary line with a curvilinear profile, so it sits well with flat-panel and slab cabinet fronts and modern millwork rather than raised-panel traditional casework. Pairing it with an Emtek pull from the same Neos series keeps the curve and the finish consistent.
