Emtek KIT-PRIV-104 Emergency Release Coin (Pack of 3)

It's the small steel tool that opens an Emtek privacy lock from the outside. Privacy knobs and levers lock from inside the room; the coin slots into the emergency release slot on the outside rose so someone can turn the mechanism and get the door open when a bathroom or bedroom is locked with a child or a guest behind it. KIT-PRIV-104 ships three coins to a pack, which is why property managers and builders buy it, one for each floor or unit rather than one per building.

Three per pack. These are the sort of thing that disappears off a job site or out of a maintenance drawer, so buying the 3-pack gives you spares to leave with the homeowner, stage in a unit, or keep on the truck.

For Emtek residential privacy knobs and levers, yes, it's a common release tool rather than a per-design part, which is why the 3-pack is enough to cover a whole house. What it won't do is serve a different brand's privacy set or an Emtek electronic lock; those use their own override methods.

Residential. It goes with Emtek's residential privacy knobsets and leversets, the bed and bath function sets. Commercial privacy and restroom hardware generally uses a different emergency release, typically a turn slot or thumb-turn driven release built into the lock, so don't spec this one for a commercial opening.

No. KIT-PRIV-104 is a non-electronic part for mechanical privacy locks only. If you're working on an electronic Emtek lock, the override is handled through that lock's own keyed or battery-jump provision, not with this coin.

KIT-PRIV-104 is sold as a replacement part. Emtek privacy sets normally arrive with a release tool in the box, so you'd order this pack to replace ones that got lost, to stock a maintenance kit, or to hand out across a building where the original coins are long gone.
