No handing to specify. The Modern Rectangular barn door privacy lock works whichever way the door slides, so you order it the same for a left-hand or right-hand opening. It mounts to the interior side of the door with the strike on the jamb, which is what makes handing a non-issue. Useful if you are buying several for a house or a unit turn and don't want to track which door is which.
2) What is the difference between the Emtek 222201 and 222202 barn door privacy locks?
It comes down to whether you get a pull with it. The 222201 is the privacy lock with a separate strike. The 222202 is the privacy lock plus a flush pull with an integrated strike, so the pull and the strike are one piece. There is also a version with a narrow flush pull and integrated strike for tighter stiles. All three are the same lock function; you are choosing how the jamb side and the pull are handled.
