1) Will the Emtek Durango passage leverset fit a 1-3/8 inch door, or do I need something else for a thicker slab?
The Durango sandcast bronze passage set covers 1-3/8 inch through 2-1/4 inch doors on a standard 2-1/8 inch bore prep, so both the common older 1-3/8 interior slab and a thick 2-1/4 inch door work. There is a Door Thickness field on the order form, so give the actual thickness when you order rather than assuming standard. If you're above 2-1/4 inches, this isn't the set.
2) Do I need to re-drill my door to install an Emtek Durango lever, or does it drop into the existing prep?
Standard 2-1/8 inch cross bore is all the Durango passage set needs, which is the prep almost every residential door already has from a previous tubular lockset. Backset is adjustable between 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 inches, so an existing hole at either of the two usual backsets works. The one exception: if you spec the STRETTO rosette on a privacy thumbturn, that wants a 1-1/4 inch bore and a two-hole prep instead.
3) How do I measure backset for an Emtek Durango leverset and which one do I order?
Measure from the door edge to the center of the bore hole. 2-3/8 inches is typical on interior residential doors, 2-3/4 inches on many exterior and some builder-grade openings.
