This security product involves only single and double outswing doors with extra wide jambs. The factory 6 ½” “L” bolts are not long enough for your situation. When first placing your order, find out if dimension [D] is more than 5”. If so, you need extra long bolts. Click (here) to download jamb measuring instructions.
Installation: Simply replace the factory bolts with the extra long bolts. They may be a little too long. Complete the total bar installation and used your “STEEL GRIP”. With bar in the locked position on the door, cut off the excess length, leaving a ½ “ for the red end caps.

2) Do the extra long L-bolts come as a pair or singly?
They ship as a pair, model P1-1015, which is what a single Exit Security door bar takes. One bar, one pair. If you're converting two openings to deep-jamb bolts, order two pairs.
3) Can I retrofit extra long L-bolts onto a door bar that is already installed?
Yes. The extra long bolts are a straight drop-in for the factory L-bolts on the Exit Security bar, so a bar already on the door can be converted without changing the bar itself. Pull the factory bolts, fit the long ones, then trim to length with the bar in the locked position.
