1) Can the EXO PRS Perimashield wall pack mount over an existing junction box?
Yes. The PRS Perimashield mounts on a minimum 3 to 3.5 inch junction box, so a standard wall box on the building face will take it. Conduit entrances are on the bottom and the sides, which lets you come in from surface conduit as well as through the box.
2) Will the PRS Perimashield run on 277V, or do I need a separate model for 120V?
One fixture covers both. The PRS Perimashield driver is universal 120 to 277V, so the same unit works on a 120V single-family panel or a 277V commercial lighting circuit without ordering a different voltage version.
3) Do I have to use the photocell on the PRS Perimashield, or can it be wired for always-on control?
The photocell can be disconnected at installation if you do not need it. That matters if the fixture is being tied into a time clock, an astronomic panel, or a 0-10V control system that already handles switching. Leave it connected and the light runs dusk-to-dawn on its own.
4) What light pattern does the PRS Perimashield throw, and will it push light out into a lot?
Distribution is forward throw or Type IV. Type IV is the pattern you want on a building wall facing a parking area: it pushes light away from the wall in a broad forward fan rather than spilling back over the roof. The prismatic frosted lens spreads the source, and it is field replaceable if it takes a hit.
5) Is this wall pack dimmable, and what control system does it need?
The PRS Perimashield uses a 0-10V dimmable driver, so it needs a 0-10V control channel (a pair of low voltage control leads back to a dimmer or lighting control panel). It will not dim on a standard line-voltage TRIAC wall dimmer.
6) Should I pick 4000K or 5000K for a parking lot perimeter wall pack?
Both color temperatures are stocked on the PRS Perimashield. 5000K reads cooler and is the common choice where security camera footage matters; 4000K is the neutral white most property managers standardize on so new fixtures blend with existing building lighting. The family is also built in 3000K for sites that want a warmer entrance appearance.
7) Can the lens be replaced if it gets vandalized, or does the whole fixture have to come down?
The prismatic frosted lens on the PRS Perimashield is field replaceable, so a cracked or defaced lens is a parts swap rather than a full fixture change. The lens is vandal-resistant polycarbonate in a die-cast aluminum enclosure, which is why this one gets specified on alleys, dumpster walls, and ground-level exterior doors.
