1) Will the Falcon 25-C concealed vertical rod exit device fit a 1-3/4 inch door?
The Falcon 25-C is built for 1-3/4 inch doors, on a 36 inch wide stile leaf. That is the single thickness it covers, so a heavier leaf needs a different device. If the door is thicker, the DORMA 9100 Series wide stile concealed vertical rod is listed for 1-3/4 to 2-1/4 inch doors. Wide stile also means the rail has to be wide enough to take the device body, which a standard hollow metal or wide stile aluminum door is and a narrow storefront stile is not.
2) Can a concealed vertical rod exit device secure a pair of doors with no center mullion?
Yes, and that is the main reason to use one. The 25-C throws its latches into the head frame and the threshold rather than into a jamb strike, so an active leaf holds without anything standing between the two doors. Latch throw is 3/4 inch at each point. A rim device cannot do this without a removable mullion in the middle of the opening, which is the piece everyone hates carrying in and out.
3) Is the Falcon 25-C fire rated, and can I dog it down during business hours?
Rating is a required pick when you order, Non Rated or Fire Rated, and the 25-C is UL listed for panic exit and for A or B label fire door use. Dogging is where the two diverge. Hex dogging is standard and cylinder dogging is available, but mechanical dogging is only usable on the non-rated device. 4) Is the Falcon 25-C handed? Do I have to order left hand or right hand?

5) Should I order the 25-C less bottom rod, and what does LBR actually change?
Less bottom rod deletes the lower rod and latch, so the device only latches into the head. Order it where the bottom rod would sit in grit, standing water or ice melt, where the floor is uneven or sloped enough that the bottom latch will not find the strike consistently, or where the facility does not want a floor strike in a walking path. Keep the bottom rod when you want two-point latching for security on an exterior or perimeter opening. It is a required yes or no on the 25-C order. Von Duprin's 3347A-EO is the narrow stile device already built exit only, less bottom rod.
6) Concealed vertical rod or surface vertical rod, which one do I want on this opening?
Concealed runs the rods inside the door, which is what the 25-C does: nothing on the face to catch a cart, get kicked, or get pried, no exposed screws or rivets on the back of the device, and flush end caps. The cost is prep. The door has to be built or machined for concealed rods, and service means getting inside the leaf. Surface rod bolts straight to the door face and is far easier to hang on a door that is already in the frame, which is usually the deciding factor on a retrofit rather than a new opening.
7) What electrified and monitoring options can I get on a Falcon 25-C?
