Metallics FRW14 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size fastener does the Metallics FRW14 flex ratcheting wrench drive?
The FRW14 is a 1/4 inch flex ratcheting wrench, so it drives 1/4 inch hex nuts and bolt heads. That is the common size for strut nuts, small hanger hardware, and sheet metal screws with a 1/4 inch hex head.
2) Does the Metallics FRW14 wrench have a pivoting head for tight spaces?
Yes. It is a flex ratcheting wrench, meaning the ratchet head pivots so you can work at an angle off the fastener, which is what you want in a crowded junction box, overhead on strut, or alongside conduit runs where a fixed wrench has no swing room.
3) Is the FRW14 an electrical trade tool or a general automotive wrench?
Metallics catalogues the FRW14 as electrical supply, and it is sized for the hardware electricians handle day to day, 1/4 inch hex on strut nuts, box hardware, and threaded rod accessories. Nothing about the tool stops it being used elsewhere, but it is sold as an electrical install tool.
4) How many Metallics flex ratcheting wrench sizes are there under the FRW14 part number?
FRW14 is a single-size part number, the 1/4 inch wrench. There is one model on it, so if you need other hex sizes for a kit you are ordering separate part numbers, not options on this one.
