Metallics FRW716 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size nut does the Metallics FRW716 ratcheting wrench drive?
The FRW716 is a 7/16 inch flex ratcheting wrench, so it drives 7/16 inch hex nuts and bolt heads. That is the size commonly found on strut channel hardware, spring nuts and threaded rod hardware using 1/4-20 fasteners, so it is a one-size wrench rather than a set.
2) What does the flex head on this ratcheting wrench actually get you on an electrical install?
The pivoting (flex) head lets you angle the box end off the handle axis, which is how you reach a nut that sits above a ceiling grid, behind conduit, or inside a panel where a straight wrench cannot line up. Combined with the ratchet, you keep the socket engaged and work in short swings instead of resetting the wrench every turn. It is a 7/16 inch wrench, so one fastener size per tool.
3) Is the Metallics FRW716 sold as a single wrench or part of a set?
It is a single tool. The FRW716 is offered in one configuration only, the 7/16 inch flex ratcheting wrench, so if you need other fastener sizes you order those sizes separately.
