Metallics JPFMMH2241200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many HangerMate 1/4-20 rod hangers come in a jar?
They ship 25 to a jar. For an electrician pricing a job, that is one jar per 25 drop points, so a run needing 60 hangers takes three jars.
2) Is the Metallics HangerMate 1/4-20 x 1-1/2 hanger steel or stainless?
It is hardened steel (HzlStl in the Metallics part description), not stainless. Hardened steel is what lets a self-drilling hanger thread itself into the base material, but it also means this one is intended for dry interior work rather than corrosive or exterior exposure.
3) What is the Metallics part number for the 1/4-20 x 1-1/2 HangerMate rod hanger?
Order it as Metallics JPFMMH2241200. That number covers the 1/4-20 x 1-1/2 inch hardened steel HangerMate rod hanger supplied 25 per jar. Distributors cross-referencing should note the 1/4-20 thread and 1-1/2 inch length are what separate it from the other lengths and thread sizes in the HangerMate line.
4) Does the 1/4-20 HangerMate come with the threaded rod?
No. The jar of 25 contains the hangers only. You supply the 1/4-20 threaded rod or bolt cut to your drop length, plus any nuts, washers, or conduit clamps the run needs.
