Metallics JPFMCVE1421000 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use the HangerMate JPFMCVE1421000 for overhead concrete ceiling hanging?
Yes. The JPFMCVE1421000 is the vertical concrete version of the HangerMate rod hanger, meant for anchoring into the underside of a concrete deck or slab to pick up threaded rod for conduit, strut, or pipe runs. With the external 1/4 inch thread you hang the rod directly off the stud rather than threading into the anchor.
2) Will the 1-5/8 inch HangerMate work in a thin concrete topping or metal deck?
Plan on at least 1-5/8 inches of sound concrete, since that is the full length of the anchor and it is designed for vertical concrete. In a thin topping over metal deck, or in hollow core, there may not be enough solid material to develop the anchor, and you would be better served by a deck-specific hanger or a through-bolted detail.
3) How many Metallics HangerMate 1/4 x 1-5/8 anchors come in a jar?
25 pieces per jar. The jar pack is the standard put-up for this HangerMate, which suits a service van or a job box where you are setting a run of hangers at a time rather than ordering by the case.
4) What is the difference between an external thread HangerMate and an internal thread version?
External thread means the anchor comes out of the concrete as a male 1/4 inch stud that you run a coupling nut or rod onto. An internal (female) version is drilled flush and you thread the rod up into it. The JPFMCVE1421000 is the external thread style, so pick it when you want the rod attached at the anchor rather than screwed into a recessed insert.
