Metallics PFMD1491100 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics PFMD1491100 Hangermate driver used for?
It's a driver for installing Hangermate concrete hangers. You chuck it in a drill or impact and use it to drive the hanger anchor into concrete, rather than turning the hanger by hand. It is a tool, not an anchor, so the hangers themselves are ordered separately.
2) How many drivers come in a Metallics PFMD1491100?
One. The PFMD1491100 is sold as a single driver, so if you're kitting out a crew running concrete Hangermate anchors, order one per drill.
3) Will the PFMD1491100 driver work on Hangermate anchors meant for wood or steel?
It's specified as the driver for the concrete Hangermate hanger. Hangermate anchors for other base materials use their own matching driver, so match the driver to the anchor type you're setting rather than assuming one driver covers the line.
4) Do I need this driver, or can I set a concrete Hangermate with a socket?
Metallics lists a dedicated driver for the concrete Hangermate, the PFMD1491100, and that is the tool the anchor is meant to be set with. Using it keeps the anchor square in the hole and protects the threaded head that your rod or hanger threads into.
