1) Can Hercules furnace cement be used on a wood stove, or is it only for oil and gas furnaces?

Regular body refers to the consistency: the Hercules 35504 is a trowelable, paste-consistency furnace cement meant for sealing and patching joints and seams on oil, gas, coal and woodburning heating equipment. If you need a thinner, brushable material for hairline seams, or a rope-gasket adhesive for a stove door, those are different products. For general flue collar, smoke pipe and firebox seam work, regular body is the one you want.
