Houzer 629812 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sinks does the 629812 bottom grid actually fit?
The Houzer 629812 Wirecraft grid is cut to fit the Quartztone granite sink models M-200 and M-200U, and specifically the left bowl of those sinks. It is not a universal grid. If you have a different Houzer model, or you need the right bowl covered, this is the wrong part number.
2) Is the 629812 a left bowl or right bowl grid for the M-200U?
Left bowl. The 629812 is sized for the left bowl of the M-200 and M-200U only, so if you are protecting both bowls of a double-bowl M-200 you will need the separate grid sized to the right bowl as well.
3) What size is the Houzer 629812 sink grid?
It measures 12-13/16 x 14-3/4 x 1 inches. Use those numbers against your bowl floor before ordering: the grid has to sit flat on the bottom of the left bowl with the feet down, so a bowl much smaller in either direction will not take it.
4) Does the Houzer 629812 grid come with feet, or do I need to buy them separately?
The protective plastic feet are part of the grid. They hold it in place on the bowl floor and keep the wire off the sink surface, which cuts noise and movement while dishes are being washed. Nothing else is required to install it, it simply drops into the bowl.
5) Will a stainless grid scratch a granite composite sink?
No. The 629812 is built for Houzer's Quartztone granite composite bowls, and the plastic feet are what contact the sink surface rather than the bare wire. The grid's job is the opposite of scratching: it keeps pots and cast iron off the bowl floor and cushions fragile dishes.
6) I manage apartment kitchens with Houzer M-200 sinks. Can I standardize on this one grid for all of them?
For the left bowl of an M-200 or M-200U, yes, the 629812 is the matching grid and repeats across every unit with that sink. It comes in one configuration only, satin stainless steel, left bowl, so there is no finish or handing decision to track across a fleet.
7) What material is the Houzer 629812 grid, and will it hold up to dishwashing chemicals?
It is a stainless steel wire grid, so it stands up to water, food acids and ordinary kitchen cleaners in daily residential and multi-family use. Being a kitchen bowl accessory rather than a plumbed fitting, there is no connection or rough-in to worry about.
