Houzer BG-8050 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-8050 bottom grid fit?
The BG-8050 Wirecraft bottom grid is cut to fit the Houzer PTB-2020 sink bowl and nothing else. Houzer grids are bowl-specific, so if your sink is a different Houzer model, or any other brand, this one will sit wrong or not drop in at all. Check the model stamped or labeled under the sink rim before ordering.
2) Does a stainless sink grid actually protect the sink, or is it just for dishes?
Both. The BG-8050 sits on the sink floor so pans and plates land on the wire rack instead of the stainless bottom, which keeps scratch marks off the bowl and cushions glassware. Plastic feet hold it in place and cut the rattle and noise when you are washing dishes.
3) Does the BG-8050 grid have a cutout for the drain?
The BG-8050 is a 15 x 15 inch wire grid custom made for the PTB-2020 bowl, so it is laid out to clear that sink's drain opening and sit flat on its feet. Because it is matched to one specific bowl, you do not have to trim or reposition anything at install, just set it in.
4) Is the Houzer BG-8050 grid suitable for a kitchen sink in a rental unit I have to clean often?
It is a kitchen sink accessory built from stainless steel, so it washes down and stands up to water, food, and household cleaners without rusting out like a coated or rubber mat. For a property manager it lifts out in one piece, which makes cleaning the bowl underneath straightforward between tenants.
