Houzer BG-7010 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-7010 bottom grid fit?
The BG-7010 Wirecraft grid is cut to fit the Houzer PTB-1318 sink bowl and nothing else. Houzer sizes each bottom grid to a specific bowl, so if your sink is a different Houzer model, this grid will either rock on the bowl radius or sit short of the walls. Confirm the PTB-1318 stamp or paperwork before ordering.
2) Will a bottom grid stop my stainless sink from getting scratched and noisy?
That is the job of the BG-7010. The wire grid keeps pots, cast iron, and plates off the bowl floor so they do not scour the stainless finish, and the plastic feet stop the grid sliding around, which cuts the clatter and drumming you get washing dishes straight on the bowl. It also cushions glassware that gets set down hard.
3) Does the BG-7010 bottom grid need any hardware or mounting to install?
No install work at all. The grid drops into the PTB-1318 bowl and rests on its own plastic feet, so there is nothing to fasten, drill, or seal. Lift it out for cleaning and put it back. For a property manager restocking units, it is a drop-in part with no plumber required.
4) Is the Houzer BG-7010 grid stainless steel, and will it rust in a commercial kitchen?
It is a stainless steel grid, so it stands up to constant water, food acids, and normal cleaning chemicals. Keep bleach and steel wool off it, and rinse it rather than leaving it sitting wet under a pile of dishes, and it holds up in high-traffic multi-family or hospitality kitchens.
5) What finish does the Houzer BG-7010 come in?
One finish only: satin stainless steel. It matches the brushed look of a stainless Houzer bowl rather than standing out against it, which matters if the sink is visible in an apartment or showroom kitchen.
