1) What size cabinet do I need for the Houzer LHD-3322 33 inch double bowl sink?
You need a 36 inch base cabinet minimum. The sink itself measures 33 x 22 x 8 inches overall, so a 36 inch cabinet gives you the rail clearance to cut the opening without running into the cabinet sides. A 33 inch cabinet will not take it.
2) Does the Houzer LHD-3322 drop in over the counter or mount underneath?
It is a topmount, also called drop-in or self-rimming. The rim sits on top of the counter and the mounting hardware clamps from below, which means it works on laminate, tile, or butcher block where an undermount cannot be used. Mounting hardware and installation instructions are included in the box.
3) Which side is the small bowl on the Houzer LHD-3322?
Small bowl on the left. The left bowl is 7-1/8 x 15-3/4 x 5-1/2 inches and the large right bowl is 21 x 15-3/4 x 8 inches, an 80/20 split. If your disposer is plumbed on the right side of the cabinet, that shallow left bowl will land over the wrong side, so check your drain run before ordering this orientation.
4) Will a standard garbage disposal fit the Houzer LHD-3322 drain?
The drain openings are 3-1/2 inch, which is the standard US kitchen sink drain size that disposers and basket strainers are built for. Both bowls drain at center. Basket strainers are included, so if you are hanging a disposer on one bowl you will use the disposer's own mounting flange on that side and the supplied strainer on the other.
5) Can I replace an existing 33 inch drop-in kitchen sink with the Houzer LHD-3322 without recutting the countertop?
Often yes on a laminate top, because 33 x 22 inches with an 8 inch depth is the common North American drop-in footprint and the rim covers the old cut edge.
