The F2047 is sized for 4 AWG conductor, which is the 25 mm2 metric equivalent called out in its description. Strand count doesn't matter as long as the stripped bundle is 4 AWG stranded copper; the barrel is copper and the collar is polypropylene.

On insulated ferrules the collar color is how an electrician or inspector reads the conductor size across a panel without pulling the wire, and on the Sta-Kon F2047 yellow corresponds to the 4 AWG / 25 mm2 size. If you are standardizing a control panel, order by color and size together so the crimp crew can sort them on the bench.

The insulated type, like the F2047, puts a polypropylene collar over the wire entry, so the strands are funneled in and the transition from insulation to terminal is covered. That is what you want in a crowded enclosure where adjacent terminals are close and a stray strand is a short. A bare ferrule is the choice when the terminal itself fully shrouds the connection or when the collar won't physically fit the terminal throat.

Many terminal blocks and breakers require stranded conductors be ferruled so a screw clamp bears on a solid copper sleeve rather than loose strands. A ferrule like the F2047 keeps the 4 AWG bundle tight, prevents strand splay and backing out, and gives a consistent clamp. If your terminal is pressure-plate style and rated for stranded as-is, a ferrule is optional but still tidier for maintenance crews.

The barrel is copper, so it is intended for copper conductor. Do not crimp it onto aluminum wire; copper-to-aluminum needs a connector specifically rated AL/CU for that service.
