1) What wire gauge does the Sta-Kon RC367 ring terminal accept?
The RC367 is sized for 12-10 AWG stranded copper wire. The yellow vinyl insulation is the color code for that range, so on a panel where you are also running 16-14 (blue) and 22-18 (red) terminals, the yellow barrel is your visual check that you grabbed the right one for 12 or 10 gauge. Anything smaller than 12 AWG will not crimp reliably in this barrel.
2) What size stud or screw does the RC367 ring fit?
The ring is a No. 10 size, so it slips over a #10 screw or stud. It will also pass over a smaller #8 or #6 screw, though you would normally use a washer under the head so the ring tongue is fully captured. It will not fit a 1/4 inch stud.
3) Should I use a ring terminal or a fork terminal for a panel connection?
A ring terminal like the RC367 is the choice where the connection cannot be allowed to back out, because the screw has to come fully out before the terminal will release. 6) Is the RC367 a copper terminal or aluminum? Can I put it on aluminum wire?
The terminal body is copper, rated for copper conductors in the 12-10 AWG range. It is not an AL/CU dual-rated lug, so do not terminate aluminum building wire with it; that calls for a connector marked AL9CU or AL/CU.
7) What crimp tool do I need for the RC367?
Use a controlled-cycle or ratcheting crimper with the yellow nest, matched to 12-10 AWG insulated terminals. The insulated-terminal dies crimp the barrel and the vinyl sleeve together in one action; an uninsulated or open-barrel die will split the sleeve. The yellow color on this terminal is what tells you which nest or die station to use.
