Pliers deform the sleeve without properly compacting the strands, which leaves a high-resistance joint that heats under load.
6) Is the RDV367 ring terminal rated for aluminum wire?
The barrel is copper and the terminal is specified for 8 AWG copper conductors. Don't put it on aluminum - that needs a terminal specifically marked AL or AL/CU with the appropriate inhibitor compound.
