1) Will the Isonas 25ft pigtail cable work with an RC-04 reader controller?
Yes, the 25ft jacketed pigtail is built for the RC-04. The 8-pin Molex snap-in connector plugs straight into the controller, and because it detaches you can swap or bench-test a reader without cutting or re-terminating anything at the door.
2) How long a cable run can I get from the Isonas Pure IP pigtail, and is there a shorter option?
This one gives you 25 feet from the reader controller back to the door components. Isonas builds the same jacketed pigtail in 10 foot and 25 foot lengths, so if the run from the controller to the strike, REX and door contact is short, the 10 foot version keeps the excess out of the frame.
3) Can I pre-wire the door before the Isonas reader controller is mounted?
That is exactly what the snap-in design is for. Pull and terminate the cable at the door devices first, then snap the 8-pin Molex onto the Pure IP reader controller when it goes up. It keeps the rough-in and the trim-out as separate trips, which matters when the controller is the last thing delivered to site.
4) What gauge and how many conductors are in the Isonas 8-pin pigtail cable?
Eight conductors at 22 AWG, in a jacket. That is the gauge Isonas specifies for the door-side devices the RC-04 drives, so you are not sizing wire yourself; run the eight conductors to your strike, request-to-exit, door position switch and whatever else lands on the controller.
