The Corbin 60 keyway is what decides this. This Ilco key-in-knob cylinder is machined to OEM specifications and is re-keyable to the original manufacturer's system, so it drops into Corbin hardware already running the Corbin 60 keyway and can be keyed into the existing master or grand master system. If the other doors in the building run a different keyway, the key won't enter, so match the keyway stamped on your existing cylinder before ordering.

Five pin. That's the standard pinning for a key-in-knob cylinder, and the Ilco KIK line is built to master key and grand master key quality, so a locksmith can pin it into an existing Corbin 60 system. It also ships factory master keyed or construction master keyed if you'd rather not pin it in the field, which is the usual route on new construction where the trades need temporary keys before turnover.

Zero bitted means the cylinder ships with no key cuts and no key. It is a blank canvas for a locksmith to pin to whatever combination the building runs. You cannot install it and use it as-is, and no key comes with it. If you need a working cylinder on day one, it has to go to a locksmith or be ordered factory keyed. That's normally exactly what a security integrator or a property manager standardizing a building wants, because the cylinder gets pinned to the house system rather than introducing a one-off key.

No cam and no thread. This is a key-in-knob cylinder, not a mortise cylinder, so there is no threaded body to screw into a mortise lock case and no cam to drive a lock. It retains in the knob sleeve and drives the knob's own mechanism. If you're servicing a mortise lockset or an exit device trim that takes a threaded cylinder, this is the wrong part; you need a threaded mortise cylinder with the correct cam for that lock.

The cylinder body measures 1.26 inches in length with a 0.61 inch face. Those two numbers are what tell you whether it seats correctly in the knob housing you're replacing, since a key-in-knob cylinder has to bottom out in the knob sleeve and present flush at the face. Measure the cylinder you're pulling out before you order.

It usually is, and it's why this cylinder is sold zero bitted. Rather than servicing every original Corbin cylinder in place, a locksmith pins a batch of these five pin Corbin 60 cylinders to the new system on the bench and swaps them door by door. They're re-keyable to the original manufacturer's system, so the new cylinders fold into the same master and grand master hierarchy the building already runs. The knobsets themselves stay on the doors.

Machined from solid brass bar stock, then finished in 26D satin chrome. Brass is what lets a locksmith pin and re-pin it repeatedly without the chambers wearing out, which matters on a rental portfolio where cylinders get rekeyed at every turnover.

Satin chrome is the only finish this cylinder comes in, coded 26D. It's the standard commercial finish and reads as a brushed silver, so it sits well against stainless levers and satin nickel trim. Against bright chrome or brass it will not match. On a knob, only the cylinder face shows, so a small mismatch is far less visible than it would be on a rose or lever.

Commercial. The Ilco KIK, KIL and KID line is built for commercial door hardware service work, and the breadth of models in the line is there so a shop can cover multiple manufacturers' knobsets out of one product family. For an institutional or MRO buyer standardizing cylinders across a facility, that's the point of buying Ilco rather than the OEM part.
