Kawneer KW033539-40 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Kawneer KW033539-40 housing assembly work on a left-handed door?
No. The KW033539-40 is built right-handed only, so it will not serve a left-hand opening. If the door you are repairing is left-handed you need the opposite-hand version of the Falcon 2090 housing assembly door. Confirm the hand at the door before ordering, since the part is pre-configured and cannot be flipped on site.
2) What exit device does the Kawneer KW033539-40 part fit?
It is a housing assembly door component for the Falcon 2090 exit device series, supplied as a genuine Kawneer service part. It is not a universal part: it is engineered for the 2090 series, so it should not be substituted onto other exit device families.
3) Can I repair a Falcon 2090 exit device instead of replacing the whole unit?
Yes, that is what this Kawneer housing assembly door is for. It lets a maintenance crew replace the damaged housing component on an existing Falcon 2090 device rather than pulling and rebuilding the entire exit device, which keeps the rest of the hardware and the door prep untouched.
4) What finish is the KW033539-40 Falcon 2090 housing assembly, and will it match my other doors?
Dark Bronze. If the rest of your storefront or entrance hardware is in a dark bronze anodized or painted finish, this repair part will blend in rather than leaving a bright patch on the device. If your openings are aluminum or clear anodized, order the matching finish version instead of this one.
5) Is this Kawneer housing assembly rated for commercial traffic?
It is a commercial-grade service part, listed for commercial rather than residential use, and is intended for high-traffic door hardware environments such as offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, and government buildings.
