Kawneer KW037367-40 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Kawneer KW037367-40 bumper bar package?
It's a back-to-back pair of aluminum bumper bars sold as one package, finished in Dark Bronze, for variable size doors. It's a genuine Kawneer service part supplied as a replacement component for exit device assemblies on aluminum doors, not a complete exit device.
2) Does the KW037367-40 package cover both faces of the door or just one?
Both. The back-to-back configuration gives you a matched pair of bumper bars so one mounts on each face of the door in the same package, which is why the exterior and interior sides come out looking identical.
3) Will the Dark Bronze finish match the rest of my Kawneer entrance hardware?
Dark Bronze is one of the standard finishes used across commercial aluminum entrance hardware, so the KW037367-40 bars coordinate with Dark Bronze door frames, pulls, and exit devices. If your openings are clear anodized or black, order the bar package in that finish instead of matching it later with paint.
4) Is this a Kawneer OEM part or an aftermarket copy?
It's genuine, supplied through the Kawneer service parts program, so it's the same component Kawneer specifies for its own door systems and exit device assemblies. For a property manager keeping a mixed fleet of Kawneer entrances consistent, that matters more than it does on a generic bumper bar.
5) Do I order the KW037367-40 by door size, or does one package cover a range of doors?
It's built for variable size door applications, so the same package is intended to suit a range of commercial door configurations rather than being tied to one leaf width. Order it by the Kawneer part number KW037367-40 and the Dark Bronze finish.
6) Is a bumper bar package like this rated for commercial traffic, or is it a residential part?
Commercial. The KW037367-40 is built as a commercial-grade component and is used in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential, and municipal buildings, all high-cycle openings where the door face takes repeated contact.
7) Why aluminum for a bumper bar instead of steel?
The bars are aluminum, which keeps the weight off the door leaf and resists corrosion on exterior aluminum entrances. On a storefront or glass front opening, that also means the bar behaves like the rest of the door system rather than adding a dissimilar metal at the fasteners.
