Kawneer KW037367-29 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Kawneer KW037367-29 bumper bar package, and what does it do on a door?
It's a back-to-back aluminum bumper bar package finished in black, supplied as a genuine Kawneer service part. The two bars mount opposite each other through the door so both faces get impact protection, guarding the door and the surrounding framing from cart and traffic damage. It's a replacement component for Kawneer exit device applications, not a latching device on its own.
2) I manage a building with Kawneer aluminum entrances. Will this bumper bar package match what's already on my doors?
If the existing bars are Kawneer and your doors take the KW037367-29, yes. This is an authentic Kawneer replacement component built to match original Kawneer specifications, so it integrates with existing Kawneer door hardware rather than being an aftermarket lookalike. The finish is black, so it will match black-finish openings; if your other doors are anodized clear or dark bronze, the black bars will read differently.
3) Do I get both bars in the KW037367-29, or do I need to order two?
One package covers the opening. It is sold as a dual bumper bar package in a back-to-back configuration, so both faces of the door are covered by the one part number.
4) Will a bumper bar replace my exit device?
No. The KW037367-29 is a bumper bar package, a push/pull impact bar that protects the door face. It does not latch, dog, or provide egress hardware. If the opening needs panic hardware, you need an exit device; this part is catalogued as a replacement service part used alongside Kawneer exit device assemblies.
5) Does the Kawneer bumper bar package work on doors of different widths?
Yes. The KW037367-29 is built for variable size doors, so it covers a range of commercial door widths rather than being cut for one single leaf size.
6) Is this bumper bar package rated for a high-traffic commercial entrance, or is it a residential part?
Commercial. The KW037367-29 is designated for commercial use and the aluminum construction is intended for high-traffic environments such as schools, hospitals, retail, offices, warehouses and municipal buildings.
7) What is the exact Kawneer part number to order for the black back-to-back aluminum bumper bar?
KW037367-29 is the number to quote. That single part number covers the back-to-back aluminum bumper bar package in black for variable size doors.
