Klein Tools Journeyman Cold Weather Pro Gloves

No. The Journeyman Cold Weather Pro gloves are not intended for energized electrical use. They are cold weather work gloves for general handling and grip. For energized work you need rubber insulating gloves rated to the class of the task, worn with leather protectors. These are also not flameproof or fire retardant, so keep them away from open flame and sparks.

Insulation is split: the nylon back is lined with Thinsulate C100 for more warmth where there is no dexterity penalty, while the palm and fingers use the thinner Thinsulate C40 so you keep feel for tools and fasteners. Thinsulate is a 3M trademark.

Three sizes: Medium is part number 40211, Large is 40212, and X-Large is 40213. Size is the only ordering choice, so pick the size and the part number follows.

They are water resistant, not waterproof. The nylon back is water resistant, the thumb and cuff are neoprene, and the palm is rubberized for both water resistance and grip. That handles wet snow, damp lumber and slushy handling, but they are not a sealed waterproof shell for prolonged immersion.

Yes. There is 5 mm EVA foam padding over the knuckles and 2 mm EVA foam in the palm, so they absorb knocks and vibration on top of the insulation.

That is what they are built for: insulated, water resistant, padded in the palm and knuckles, with a rubberized grip palm for handling wet tools and material in the cold. The limits to know before you standardize on them are that they are not fire retardant and not for energized electrical work, so a crew doing arc-flash or live line work needs separate rated gloves alongside these.

Light for an insulated glove at 4.6 oz (132 g). That keeps hand fatigue down over a full shift compared with a bulky lined mitt.
